Raffaella received her diploma in piano, when she was very young, at the ‘L. Refice’ Conservatory of Frosinone, studying with teachers L. Mancini and E. De Rosa.
She continued her studies in Lausanne, Switzerland, with Daniel Spielberg and Frédéric Rapin. Then Raffaella met Bruno Canino who was an integral part of her artistic and professional education. She studied with Mr Canino in Fiesole, Bern and Seveso and he remains a constant source of support.
With her sister, violinist Natascia, Raffaella attended several chamber music master classes all around Europe: in Siena, at the ‘Accademia Chigiana’ with Uto Ughi and Corrado Romano, in Lausanne at the ‘Académie de Musique de Chambre du Conservatoire de Lausanne’ with Pierre Amoyal and Pavel Gililov, in Fiesole at ‘The three-year Master class of Chamber Music’ with the ‘Trio di Milano’ and in Lausanne at the ‘Atelier de Musique de Chambre du Conservatoire de Lausanne’ with Piero Farulli.
Raffaella taught music at the ‘Liceo Pareto’ of Lausanne for four years and collaborated with the ‘Orchestra Giovanile Italiana’ at the ‘Scuola di musica di Fiesole’.
Graduated in Italian Literature at ‘La Sapienza’ University of Rome, Raffaella is also the author of the critical review of Sir William Walton’s ‘Toccata for violin and pianoforte’ which is listed in the Oxford University Press catalogue.
Raffaella and her sister, violinist Natascia, form the internationally acclaimed “Duo Gazzana”.
The Duo won numerous awards and scholarships and can be seen performing throughout Europe and increasingly around the Globe.
